The Assam district lies in a river valley at 200' elevation and jungle-like environment. This produces large thick tealeaves that due to their heartiness can be processed in a manner to produce bold teas with dark redish-brown broth color.
Most robust blends such as Irish or Scottish Breakfasts include Assam as the main ingredient. Our Assam Gold Rush however is an un-blended single estate tea which reveals it's own unique cup characteristics.
